Vacuum pump swap questions?

Postby bradshaw106 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 10:52 am

I have a non-intercooled cummins I'm swapping into a late model truck
Wondering if I should swap to a intercooled version of the vacuum pump while the engine is on the stand?
Or should I just save the money for something else?
Thanks

I would swap to the IC style system. I did this on my 89 motor...and never looked back. It's more compact, and there is actually rebuild/re-seal kits for it. ;)

You will also need oiling line, and a couple PS/vacuum pump to block brackets, and a dedicated block bracket. There is a couple threads over on CF that show all the pieces needed.
1984/93 Dodge Crewcab, W350, 1 Ton SRW, long box, 330K Km's, M&H spacer, 366 spring, fuel pin to deep side, 14cm housing, Piston LP, PS IC, Isspro Boost, Pyro and tach, NV4500, 29 spline NP205, 3.54's.
