I ran a tank of 70/30 used hydraulic oil/diesel once. Smokier when cold, bit higher cruise egts, bit lower wot egts.

Wow lower EGT's at WOT? Good to hear. Wasn't sure how most viewed it, as it's been semi touchy with other people I've talked with. Got 115 gal of WMO, and about 15 gal of ATF stocked up.

Bought a centrifuge and am planning to run things in the spring.

Power was down a bit I'm guessing?

I think power was about the same, it was a long time ago. I remember the egts though lol. Imo, 50% mix is plenty thick enough. A little propane thrown in the mix would probably keep the injector tips and whatnot much cleaner over the long term burning used oil. Probably run cleaner as well.

Great to hear. Got a friend who runs it 3 seasons of the year, from 10/90 to 90/10. What where yall's filtering methods, and have you thought about running any more?

I filtered mine minimally. And since I use the truck less now I would enjoy running it more. But have not gotten around to getting a better filtering system established.

Yeah a buddy of mine works at a small auto shop and he will do the same with his 7.3. When someone brings in a car for an oil change with clean oil, he will dump it in his tank.

Good for curious guys like me though, to see results etc. I wonder if alternative fuels mess with injector POP pressure or anything else like that

I've been told that the nozzles will coke up if you don't let it warm up, to fully burn everything. Friend ran 100% wmo, centrifuged, threw a N/A 6.2 K5 blazer one summer. His trip was 100miles a day to and from work, all interstate. After the summer, he pulled the injectors and they were clean as a whistle.
Have another friend that runs his '97 power stroke 100%, and he plows with it in the winter. His biggest complaint is he notices excessive glow plug failure, almost like the oil eats the tips and causes them to fail.
I've never done it, too scared it'll cause damage,

Sounds like what I've heard on the oil burning forums too, I've also heard a turbo with a small hot side housing helps prevent coking. Talked with 3 of my friends around my area that run wmo whenever possible. They only run the oil through a 10 and 5 mic filter before it goes in the tank  All three are first gens, and one has over 600k. Injectors and IP have been replaced on it once
