Update on 1st gen rebuild

Postby Michael Yankovitch » Mon Nov 30, 2015 6:53 pm

Here's a small update of my rebuild of a 1991 1st gen Cummins. Bought it as an ugly old heap in a work truck, ripped it out, stripped it to it's bare block and have rebuilt it from there. I got lots of pics but thought id just put a coupld since the process to post pics on here is soooooooo much of a pain in the ass. That photobucket sucks.

Here it is before

and after... still a work in progress. I'm rebuilding the VE pump then should be ready to do final assembly and test start.

1978 GMC body swap onto 1991 non-ic Dodge W250 4x4 (A727, np205, D60 & D70 with 3.07s)
Full de-computerize. Removing PCM and simplifying wiring to its most basic form.

That's a nice color, lighter than the Cummins beige.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Wow are you ever thorough with the paint. That looks excellent
Ducati- professional nap taker, and thread derailer extraordinaire
Brownie: 80 dodge heavy half. Ghost cummins under the hood, and some sinister plans
The Roo Hunter: 93 w250, lifted, 2 whistle machines, and a bunch of other go fast goodies, uhh..... not there yet
Jaeger: 12 ram 3500. Lifted, exhausted, and fed an excessive quantity of air
The Huntress: 02 Jetta TDI. No muffler, egr, horsepower

Anything that beige colour has had a coat of epoxy primer first. I want this to last. I'll post more pics soon.

Holy Shit, it looks even better on my computer! I was on my phone in Racine last week when I saw it, and that didn't do it justice! 8)

Thanks guys. I will post more pics soon. My old phone had all the pics on it and it was destroyed so once I get it working I'll post more. Just rebuilding the VE pump now. Once I get it done I should be ready for final assembly and test start.

Factory manual and the posts on this forum has been incredibly helpful.
