I take the tower off and fill it from the top. Only reason is because snap rings don't bother me too much.

Oh but you will want someone to hold the tower/spring compressed while you re install the snap ring

I have the benefit of access to a lift, so I generally use that, but I could probably just lift one side

I put a 90* street ell on mine, it brings up just perfect for the extra quart.
When I have to pull the shifter I shanghai one of my kids and he holds the 2x4 under the heater box and pushes the stub down. ;)

This getrag has always talked to me but now it's becoming more vocal.....really not in a desireable transmission-rebuilding stage right now :|

Use your chest to push on the shifter enough to get the spring compressed and it frees up your hands for the snap ring installation.

Amsoil HDD 5w-30 Diesel oil has a lot of Zinc and anti-wear additives. I use it in my Ford 6.0, used oil analysis and the whole 9 yards. It is an excellent motor oil. Our reliability group has placed it in the top 2 for their next supplier for our mining machinery.

Agreed. I get it at great prices from my very compliant dealer.

Also use their ATF & Severe Gear 75W90.

Picked up some delo from walmart the other day and noticed the regular rotella t3 had been replaced with a new t4. I think its ck rated or something, anyone know if chevron or anyone else will follow suit soon?
