so my fss has been junk for a while and ive always just used the emergency shut off. ive been trying to figure out this part throttle and idle miss so i figured ill gut the fss. so i pulled the bracket by it and got a wrench on it it came out hard as i expected but i got it. i pulled the plunger, spring and o ring and noticed fuel seemed to be flowing somewhat inside the hole. i didnt think much of it and re installed. now it misses under load too like an injector tip is partially clogged! What the hell?!?! also found out the wire to my ksb quit getting 12 volts so i hooked the fss wire up to it.

Sounds like removing the fss dislodged more plunger tip crud into the delivery valves. I've never removed delivery valves before, but it's what I'd do. Flush them out and hope nothing made it past them. And hope like hell it solves the problem.

Well I filled the fuel filter with lucas injector cleaner and marvel mystery oil and ran the piss out of it. Egts were in the 1300 range and were still climbing but i let off as soon as it got to 1300. It seems to run better now but still misses intermittently and you can hear it pop and miss whrn your on the throttle it just not as bad. But now i see its leaking fuel from the fss and i cranked that thing down! Could that be my problem ? How can i get it to seal? Teflon tape?

Did you install a new O-ring when you put the FSS back in? But if it's leaking you might be getting air into the system?

If the o-ring is bad it will leak like it is, it won't make it pop and skip. It's after the LP so it won't suck air there.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Didn't know I had to reinstall the o ring when I gutted the fss. I guess I should've done more research before hand!

Well it didn't pop and skip at wot and under load before I gutted the fss? But it has been missing and running kind of rough at an idle for a while now. I always thought that was injectors until I put my new 5x .012 injectors in and it didn't fix it.

Put the o-ring back on and try it again. There's a chance it may be sucking air if the LP isn't real good. That's shouldn't affect the idle skip though.

Im waiting on a whole new switch with the o ring. My fss started spraying fuel out around where the 12v wire goes in. The lp isn't a very good one. Its a stock replacement Delphi unit.I replaced what I assume was the original last year.
