I need fuel filter specs

Postby spencerdiesel » Fri Feb 19, 2016 7:19 am

Looking at filters and seperators for my dual filter head, it's a 7/8-14 size.

I'm looking for a 20-25 micron FS, and 8-12 micron FF.

I swear Fleetguard abhors givin details. Thanks guys

Yeah, I agree on that! Several times I went to their site looking for specs and found less than nothing.

Wix has the specs for their filters posted.

You can search by filter type, then by the specs you want http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/FilterBySize.aspx

Looks like a limited choice in the 7/8-14 category though...

Why such a big micron fuel filter? Tolerances on the pump internals are usually 1-3 microns.

The ones I have on The Roo Hunter are ff5320 2 micron fuel filter, and fs1212 fuel separator

I was thinking around 10 micron for the primary and 2-3 for the secondary. Now I have a 10 micron for primary and secondary and would like to change to a finer micron.

Did y'all notice any drop in inlet pressure with the finer micron? Dman what lift pump is on the roo hunter?

I have a raptor 100, so mines electric. I have a fuel pressure sender mounted after my filters, but I haven't gotten around to hooking it up yet

Ok. I've got a 15 psi spring I can put in the LP if fuel pressure gets low from oil/restriction

Is the 212013s dual filter head (same on industrial 6b's) a straight bolt on?

Yes, sort of. The adapter uses a longer stud than a single filter set up. You pull the filter stud, put on the dual filter adapter, then screw in the longer stud to hold it.

Thanks Pete. Is there a Cummins part number for the stud? The filter head didn't come with one

Case part numbers, they come up all over the web, J925955 for the stud, and J903293 for the holding nut. There should be 2 O-rings to seal it between the adapter and the head.

Look here, http://partstore.casece.com/us/parts-se ... 13ar852458

You're right, stud and nut are all over google. Might not be a difference, but bringing up the stud also shows a (different looking) dual filter head. Is there any difference?
