Bigger lines as in supply lines? Upgrade? Definitely. I am running 3/8 i.d. lines for supply and return.

As for fuel mileage, that I am not sure. It does pretty good high teens to maybe 20. Not sure...as I am lazy and haven't ordered a replacement fuel filler as the old one has a hole in the large vent line near the elbow. I fixed the tank inlet seal and got it to hold, but I must've knocked too much rust off of the filler as there is a 1/8" hole in it now  When I get a new neck in it I will run a couple weeks and hand calculate to get a fairly accurate guestimation on what it is capable of.

When my truck was completely stock with the tf727 and 10 ply stock hight tires the best I got was 24mpg at 55mph. I miss those days!

I'll probably order the lift pump first and go from there. My overall goal was a HP number, now I'm just happy I can drive it over a pass in 5th gear. Makes me wanna hook up a trailer and go for a drive.

I would try some fine tuning to bring In a haze before the charger lights. Mine lit at 2000 with the THD pin before tuning. I've got it to where it lights at 1650 now (in 4th starting @ 1100)

Finally have a new boost gauge installed and after some not so fine tuning I've found the turbo is happy with a completely maxed star wheel and smoke screw both turned clock wise in. Just to see how much smoke I could make I backed the smoke screw all the way out or CCW and nothing... Like no smoke at all? I'm a bit baffled by this from everything I've read I should be able to block out the sun. The only thing that happened was some extreme turbo lag. Same goes when I turn up the star wheel CCW, more turbo lag.

Max boost was 30psi in 4th and I had to try real hard to hit that. But the truck started shuttering during the pull which I'm assuming is the VE pump running out of fuel. So until my new lift pump arrives from THD no more playing.

I'm still running the M&H #4 fuel pin and my power screw is still a full turn from Max on stock injectors and stock lift pump. So there is still allot of performance/tuning to go.

Yeah I bet your lift pump is dead. I know mine is really weak. Use to be able to run pretty fast and would blow a good size cloud before it lit. Now it won't smoke at all. Mine usually sits though.

Bringing either of the two adjustments up will reduce/slow low end fueling. Turning them CW/down increases/quickens low end fueling.

The ''smoke screw" or "pre boost screw" determines how much fuel you get before you get boost.

The starwheel determine how quickly fuel is increased with boost.

Yeah I don't think I can read another thread about the star wheel/smoke screw:shock: .... I played with it allot today (the pump that is) I didn't get as much power with the star wheel bottomed out on the top end but the turbo lit the fastest in the RPM'S, so for now that's where it's at till the fresh LP.

Even with limited fueling im very happy with the SXE. Can't wait to get some injectors and LP. The highest PSI I could hit ever was 30 for the record and as stated earlier by dazed my stock LP is probably on the way out.

You will restore some power with the piston pump.

I picked up mid range, and top end when I switched to 1/2" line, and added a raptor 100 lift pump. Before I could feel power drop off within 2 seconds of the pump going to full fuel as I'm guessing lift pump pressure dropped to zero.

Dman are you referring to 1/2" lines from the tank to the LP?

I have 1/2" line right to my ip, and a sump in the bottom of the tank, so I don't actually have anything less than 1/2" until it actually gets into the injection pump.

I haven't looked into going from the LP to the IP with 1/2" yet...(or heard it was possible!?) Where do you find such line?

I will be going to a fuel cell and ditching the stock Dodge tank. When that happens I will then run 1/2" from the tank forward.

Would you say the gains were worth the effort/cost of going full 1/2"? I'd like to think I'm getting close to being satisfied on a performance level, but then again are we ever! I have a lot of cosmetics that need to be attended to. My cab is like a tin can inside with no insulation, not even floor mats!

The raptor lift pump I have is electric, frame mounted, and comes with enough 1/2" fuel line for any length of truck. I also have a universal dual fuel filter setup, so none of my factory feed side is used. That's how I have 1/2" right to the ip.

At some point I'm going to ditch the blue rubber for black braided hose with rebuildable an fittings for a nicer look

That makes sense. I was hoping for a stock style hard lines from the LP to the IP.

I didn't want to go that route. I had problems somewhere in the factory feed, and my setup solved those issues while improving the overall potential of the system (the difference in flow between the stock feed outlet at the top of the tank, and a sump is huge)
