boost mesurement

Postby jethro » Tue Mar 08, 2016 5:30 pm

I there any reason I couldn't use a low pressure borden tube gauge (0 to 20 say ?)and a plastic or copper line out to the
intake elbow or cover plate to use as an in cab boost gauge ? I like the idea of a non-electric device ......

That's what most boost gauges are. Basic mechanical pressure gauge with a oil pressure type plastic hose to it. I would go with a 30 or 35 lb gauge though. It's best to read in the middle of the range, so if you expect 15 or 20 PSI then a 30-35 PSI gauge would be best.

AAAHHH the only electric on a boost gage is the dash light built into it. If you don't want a dash light just don't hook it up.

You could use a tube type gage. Then that brings up the question.

WHY? A mechanical boost gage is a smaller package and easyer to mount.
