Oil pressure guage bouncing

Postby mrc » Fri Apr 29, 2016 7:11 pm

Has anyone had problems with their gauge bouncing back and forth when you let on and off the throttle. Bad sensor or connections? Hopefully not something worse. Check oil level every time I drive it, staying the same.

maybe dirt in the oil pump pressure relief spring/bypass ? had a ford 4.9L gasser do that once..... (dirty oil)
Did about 4 rounds of oil changes and motor flush- got the oil squeaky clean - that helped ....

havnt had the cummins oil pump appart to see if it works the same general way.....
