setting valve lash

Postby DodgeFreak » Mon Jun 27, 2016 12:17 pm

I've always just use the alt. Nut and rolled the engine over but I believe it rolls the engine backwards. I always figured if the adjusters are loose and the cam lobes are on the bottom it doesn't matter. Am I correct or should I roll it over the right way? I haven't had any engine failures yet lol.

I don't think you'll have a problem. Myself and lots of others do it that way. It's way easier than using the barring tool

Will valve lash affect fuel mileage with out being to far out?? Seems to run fine but I want to try and squeeze any mileage out that i can.

In theory it could I suppose. I set mine to .008 and .018. Only thing I noticed was an egt drop of about 50 degrees
