Little core plugs in cylinder head

Postby ArtBee » Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:01 pm

Hello!

On my 93 I'm getting oil puddles where the little core plugs are (on the horizontal surface between the injectors and some head bolts). It's definitely not from the valve covers. So what I'm wondering is if anyone here can provide me with the diameter of the plug so that I may get them from my local parts nerds. Also, what sealer would be best to use when I install them?

Thanks so much everyone!

It should be coolant behind those plugs not oil.

Snowman_80. I figured that it would be coolant too and thought that having an interference fit plug in an oil gallery was odd. I will investigate further, must be the valve covers still doing it. Did new rubber seals on the covers but they were Felpro (blue ones) and not Cummins. OK, thanks and that makes sense ... not much info out there on these little plugs either. Take care!
