I have my gauge right under the grid heater

Should I tap into my hot ic piping?

Nope, should be good right there. Where are you located? Are you in an area that gets snow and they use a lot of salt or chemicals on the roads? I'm asking to get an idea if your intercooler may be rotted out.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Did that turbo have a small solenoid in it to run the wastegate? I think most people leave it in there. It's possible the gate is open and you are dumping thru that and not building boost. I've never messed with one, so not sure how it works.

Since you are located down there I wouldn't think the intercooler is rotted out, but it's possible.

There is a small port in the HE351cw compressor housing that leads from the wastegate solenoid back to atmosphere. You are likely loosing pressure there.

I brazed all the ports on my solenoid shut, could use JB weld, buy a plug, or put a set screw in that port.

Thanks for helping out, I haven't messed with any of those turbos yet!
