Pump shaft seal leaking

Postby 93DodgeCummins » Mon Jan 29, 2018 8:58 am

I ended up resealing my Ve44 probably 40k miles ago and now it just started leaking fuel into the crankcase. I was wondering if you guys have had enough of a groove in the pump shaft from normal operation that would cause it to be more prone to leaking. I'm asking because i'm tempted to order a new pump drive shaft so the new seal has a fresh unworn surface to ride on but if not necessary I probably wont. Any thoughts?

never seen a new,,,,,,,properly installed seal fail due to a worn pump drive shaft. Improper install..... too much supply pressure....
