KSB Timing Piston

Postby gozapper » Fri Mar 05, 2021 12:56 am

I am resealing the VE Pump from a 93 cummins. I have it apartt and was cleaning rhe parts with a product called Super Clean. I soaked the timing piston over nite and the cleaner had eatened into the coatingon the timing piston. I was quoted $161 for a new one. Can I still use it like this ? A lot of guys say they don't have theirs connected with no problems.
The piston still slides easy thru the Bore. but will likely will have some leakage,
Looking for some advise here, thanks, Tom

One of the drivability benefits of the VE pump is the non static timing. I would want it working.
