vent tube leak???

Postby hassy21 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 11:05 pm

I have a 90 dodge d-250 and it has been leaking out of the vent tube in the back of the injector pump. I was wondering how you would stop that?

You need to pull the top off the injection pump and replace the O rings on the fuel pin.

Isn't there only one ring on the fuel pin?

And how are you supposed to replace that one?

its quite easy to fix

you take the top off the pump, then you take the plug out of the back

that the diifam out and pin, then knock the pin out as far as it can the take an alean key and stick it in were the pin is and you should be able to unscrew the little alen ket thing that holds in the seal pull that out eplace seal and put back together

i havent done it in awhile so these instructions arnt the clearest but its very easy to do,

Hey dude just go here. This where I found the details to rebuild the top half of my pump. While you're in there you might want to replace the O-ring for the full load screw too.

I have taken my afc oput and i thought with my afc gone the fuel pin doesnt even work so i just took it out and put a small bolt where the hole is. Do you think that the bolt is not sealing the hole good enough?

Possibly. You might want to put some liquid teflon on it and re-install it. Best thing is take some brake cleaner or carb cleaner spray off the top of the pump and then run it to find the leak.

From there you can find out whether or not it is an o-ring or just the bolt.
