92 dodge turbo Identification

I just bought a 92 dodge from an old boy who knew nothing about the engine except it was a diesel ,so How do I identify if the stock turbo houseing is still in place (old boy bought it used ) and what (if any) other modifications have been done to the engine ,,,,
