With a 2 year old Goodyear Gatorback belt, 2 year old Dayco belt tensioner AND with a brand new Dayco belt tensioner, my belt is bouncing a bit. Enough to be heard with the hood up and standing looking at it. It has no more tension or less than the other 2 B series motors I have. It bounces straight up and down, not toward the block or radiator. It rides perfect on the pulleys and tensioner.
Along with this, my volt gauge is bouncing around, sorta pulsing, along with my damn alternator tach. Via a voltmeter the battery will read 14.4 then 15.5, back and forth 14.4, 15.5, telling me the gauge is reading correct. New voltage regulator as well.
Wondering if maybe the belt is stretched and causing the fluctuations? Alternator going south? Or is this a dual problem? Once the motor cools down I'm gonna swap belts from the crew cab as it's new with little time on it.
