You are supposed to use Kerosene, not gas.

Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure that gasoline would keep it from freezing. And you wouldn't have to use as much as kerosene.

Do it if you're stuck in the arctic to keep from gelling, but otherwise, no...

Old time truckers used to add some gas to there tanks in sub-zero temperatures.

I grew up in the only truck-accessable, road-fuel selling, filling station in three counties.

We kept a five-gallon can for carrying gasoline around back to the truck pump, so that the truck didn't have to relocate to the gas pumps in front just to get a squirt of gas.

id never ever put gas in my tank. hurts lubrication of the pump. if ya are worried use an additive that has an anti gelling agent in it. 2 stroke also with help with anti gelling and also helps lubrication. 7.39 per galllon of supertech at walmart in the sporting goods section

also read my post at www.idahobombersforum.com and see thaty we are getting a 55 gal drum of fuel additive to split up. its amalgamated TDR blend and this stuff has it all including anti gel. if ya want in on the next drum speak up on that thread.

smokybeast- 7 gallons in a 30gal tank sure wont help anything. I'd either drain it out or add about 2 jugs of Power Service, et al.

Then dont lend your pickup to anyone that unobservant.

I wouldn't put gas in mine either...BUT
The old VW I had which used a VE pump by the way, said to use gas with the diesel in cold weather...I recall it was either 3 or 5 gallons per 15 gallon tankfull.
So small amounts of gas won't hurt anything.
