Injector open

Postby GO OVRIT » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:19 pm

I got another set of injectors awhile back and tried putting them in. I swapped them the same way I have every other time and never could get the truck to start. I tried bleeding the air out for a couple hours and started to think something else was wrong. I pulled the shutoff solenoid a couple times. Check for fuel coming to the pump. Finally at about 11:30 I put the 435s back in and it fired right up. I noticed when I pulled the new sticks a couple were completely empty. Today I tried blowing through them(they don't taste very good) I can get fuel to bubble out of one of the tips. Does it sound like a pop pressure problem or could a piece of trash be keeping it open? Thanks, Mike

Probably pop pressure. Especially since it wouldnt even fire. Have you pulled the nozzles out to see if they are rusted inside? See if the pintle moves freely, check the springs for corrosion. What was the source on these injectors? Credible?

They're my stockers that I had New Era redo, so yes I would say they're credible. I plan on taking apart at least the one that I know is open. Just wanted to hear some advice first. I've swapped plenty, but never taken one apart.
