Mine came with the 3:08's from the factory.

It has a build date of 12/92. This puts it right close to the end of the model year. My closest guess is the factory had this set of axles laying around and dumped them into this truck to get rid of them. The plant most likely shut down in May of 93 for the 94 year change over and retooling.

I have a set of Dodge saleman litature for 93 trucks. The 3:08's are listed as an option for the 93 250's with a stick shift also.

From current and past experiences, these are all at least 50 deg ambient temp, summer blend fuel, and mostly trips of 10 miles or more, mixed city/highway

Thats cool Phillip, I think the 3.08's were a special order. I know a guy that had a 91 5spd that was custom ordered from the factory with 3.08's. I didnt realize it could still be done so late as I thought they were discontinued as an option when the 727 trans was dropped.

Bookshelf your 93 W250 seems to average exceptionally good mileage, any ideas why that might be? Whats your setup on that truck?

KTA the litature I have doesn't list the 3:08's for dually's just 250's with a stick only. The litature I have is what the dealer salesman would build a truck with if you went in 93 to order one. So if it wasn't in this book you couldn't get it.

I think this truck was a dealer stock order. On a stock order the factory can fudge with some items. I think this set of axles was laying around and they just dumped them in to get rid of them. Before the body change.

As far as I have seen or heard this is the only dually above 91.5 that has this gear ratio from the factory.

I just wish they had made a mistake and installed a 47RH while they were at it.  Then I wouldn't have to put one in myself.

Thats the truck in my sig, it got around 18-19 when I got it, then I put a 4" exhaust on, BHAF, played w/ the pump, and a 366 spring. I got almost 24 a couple of times w/ it. This was all summer driving, and most of those trips were 30+ miles. I posted a thread on "other" forums about it, and other guys reported the same mileage w/ theirs. With my 91.5 D250, I got 20 towing my 20' big block ski boat, and got 23 a couple of times also, and that truck was stock. I think the basic mods I have on my 93 really help mileage.
