Are there any pics or walkthrough to removing the kill Sol?

Ok....I need to get this back on the road. How do you remove the Kill solenoid plunger from the IP on a 91.5 CTD? I don't see how to get to it without removing anything from the top of the IP and messing with the setup.

HELP!!

remove the throttle cable bracket 2 13mm nuts and 1 10mm bolt and the fuel screw, still a little difficult to get to, but removal of that stuff helps.

I went ahead and removed throttle bracket and the entire pump end bracket, 1 10mm, 2 torx, 2 allen screws. It was a pain but then you've got a really clear shot at the solenoid body to get a wrench on it. If I did it again I'd do it the same way even for all the hassle. This was a VE pump.

Remove the throttle bracket, like mentioned. Take a cresent wrench, bend the top of the bracket on the rear of the pump until it breaks off. I cut mine most of the way with a cutoff tool. This allows much easier access to the solenoid. It takes a 15/16 wrench. Some guys have to hit it with a chisel because they can't get a wrench on it. Remove the spring and plunger, and reinstall the solenoid. Good luck! :)

Well, if that isn't a kick in the ass....Couldn't id the kill solenoid due to the fact that I never saw anything with 2 wires connected to it.....dang wire broke off where it enters the loom and I have no idea where the bit with the connector went...

extended the wire and she fired right up....took her up and down the road with no problems till I pulled into the driveway and heard the most obnoxious squealing from under the hood. killed it and coasted to the garage.

Pulled my freshly fabbed kill cable and turned it over a couple of times.....sounds good so far.

oil pressure comes up fine...no clanking or squealing

put the cable forward and she lit off just fine but made that noise again. Went inside and had my son come out and start her up........coming from the turbo.

pulled the airtube off and there was some paper and wire in the turbine....cleaned it out and the dang impeller now wobbles.....

next post is in the wanted ad....

2 questions, where did the crapola come from, and does it still squeal?
Maybe with that stuff out of it you can drive it again. There can be some play, as long as it doesn't hit. Is the air filter coming apart?

Yep....it was part of the air filter....collapsed and the turbo is trashed....there is a LOT of play in the shaft and both the impeller and housing are scored to crap....

No name on the filter....not even a fram.

I never replaced it yet as I was waiting to go to a BHAF and it looked new.

will take a pic of the turbo....anyone have a spare H1C laying around?

Sounds like that filter got wet at some point. Water makes them very brittle.

That gap between the blades and the housing is over .20 without moving the shaft.....also..for those who never had a turbo apart...

See the really nice and clean aluminum ring that is on the inside next to the impeller?? That is a $$$$$$ oops.....
