High ideal

Postby 2wd_sled_puller » Sun May 10, 2009 12:51 pm

Is there a way to turn the ideal down with out having to mess with the ideal screw or smoke screw. I got my ideal screw all the way out. And my smoke screen is turned in to just about runaway. I would say the truck ideals around 1400 - 1600 rpm is there anything i can do to lower the ideal. If i back the smoke screw out it looses power. I want all the power i can have..

I think you mean IDLE.

I spell like crap too.

RSWORDS has a good write up about the problem you have. Maybe he will put the link here for you to read it. I don't remember where I saw it.

I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I re-indexed the throttle linkage a spline or two on the pump lid to get mine back down to a good idle point. I know that may not make sense, but perhaps someone can elaborate... :?
