3k Mileage Report

Postby 93wuntun » Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:17 pm

1993 D350 dually, 4 speed a/t
Milage 272240

miles traveled 3260
fuel used - 167.84

MPG- 19.42

best tank-20.7 mpg
worst tank-18.18 mpg

additives -16 oz Redline Diesel fuel catalyst
32 oz Power service white container

2800 of these miles were a road trip from PA to so-CAL hauling 2000 lbs of cargo in the bed, top speed was 65 mph. Tires @ 70psi, fresh rotella 10-40 'synthetic'. I just purchased this truck a month ago, it has a decent service history, but I don't know too much about it.

Factor in the cost of the additives into the cost per mile.

I question the cost on those additives.

Hard to tell which is "snake oil."

The truck got better milage with the redline fuel catalyst. I had the power service left over from a previous vehicle, I don't buy it anymore.... although I don't believe its snake oil, I think maybe the same results could be achieved with some much cheaper 2 stroke oil.

MPGs continue to trend upward 8)
