Thanks for the info. I'll give you a little background on what I have going on. I traded my old truck(90 d250) which was rusted to uselessness, for an early 91 cab/chassis dually that was in the same condition. I wanted a dually, and the extended frame will give me a better ride, and room to mount a work box in addition to a bed.
Anyway, I had a box and cab ready to do a swap on the old truck when this one came along. In addition to the things I mentioned, this truck has a nice interior, air contitioning, and cruise control.
I drove this truck home from the trade, and dis-assembled it. So... other than the 5 miles I drove it, I have no real idea of mileage or dependability. I'm pretty much going through the entire truck, doing things that I wanted to do to the other truck(governor spring, intercooler, piston lift pump, good converter,etc... But along the way, there are things that are to simple to do now, than to put off 'till later.(head gasket, fuel lines, brakelines)
My goal is to have a driver friendly tow rig that will be dependable, powerful, and gets the mileage close to what my old one got(19-21).
Any other suggestions would be warmly welcomed. Thanks.
