whats a fair price?

Postby cumminsram » Tue Mar 27, 2007 5:48 pm

Iv been contemplating selling the truck in my signature lately and im pretty torn up but I really should sell it. What would be a fair price? I will attempt to post pics tommorrow. It has 210,000 miles roughly but the odometer quit at 207488. Its got timberline mts with less than 400 miles. new lockouts. gauges ,2 front bumpers, eagle alloy 589's, will sell with stock charger, but hx 50 will be avalible although not worth sthi on the street, dmi rear bumper that needs painted, has bottom door rust and rockers rusted through on both sides, newer bed, but cab and hood paint peeling, would come with quiet a bit of spare parts.

Thanks,Jesse

To be completely honest its just cause most everyone I run around with has newer strokers and cummins that haul a** and I just cant keep up with them.

Oh ,if you get the right stuff under the hood, you can run with them and PASS them up. It will cost way less than a newer truck, which you will likely have to upgrade as well. You already have some good stuff, just need to add a little to it.

As for value, I'll give you $500 for it, since it is just an old rust bucket ;)

Well I was hopin for a little more than 500

As far as passing them its gonna take allotta sh** under the hood. I have one friend in perticular with an 01 stroker 6sp 180hp chip and resistor. It flat boogies!

Im thinking I should go stroker or 24v cause I hate runnin alot of fuel when you dont want to aspecially when hooked to trailer!

I say mate that HX50 to an HX35 for a nice twins combo and give them hell! Add some massive injectors and fuel system and you'll have plenty of people eating your dust! First gens rule, and when a new pickup gets the crap kicked out of them by a 90 model, it'll be way sweeter then if you beat them with a newer one

With rust, engine modifications and bad paint, I wouldn't think any of the work you put into it would be valuable, unless you are lucky in finding a buyer.

And you know that you aren't tapped out powerwise. You aren't running an intercooler? Get some water injection! You're running a stock turbo or an HX-50? Neither of those are really ideal, together they'd be nice...

You have a good platform for making power there. I am a fairly young guy and i know the tempation to sell a vehicle just to be as fast as your buddys stuff been there done that. But trust me it is more rewarding to prove them wrong and do it your own way. Btw It will be MUCH cheaper to make your truck faster than your friends Ford. Trust me I have an 2000 6sd stroker that i love and i use it for all my heavy hauling but a chip and better charger is 2k then if you want more look at another 2k for injectors. So there is $4000 and you still need a clutch to hold it. Mine is 315Hp at the tires.

Sorry for being long wind and probably a little deep for my second post here.

try again.. . all of the "work" i do on mine is self-inflicted. both of mine will run forever on just normal maintenance. you have to do normal maintenance on anything you drive.

Ok, $550, and that's my final offer. I'm broke right now, man.

Offer to run a V8 with similar mileage and see what kind of response you get. I have yet to do much drag racing (Getrag isnt fond of shifts faster than 10 seconds), but my old 91 was another story. Fun to see their expressions when they would get smoked, or at least a good run fo rth emoney, then they find out it had 300K showing, and the odometer broken for 3 years.

Ditch the 50 and put a good s300 on there and you will be ALOT faster. While you are waiting on that 50 to spool your buddies are putting truck lengths on ya.
