Those three bolt holes...

Postby Begle1 » Sat Mar 31, 2007 3:02 pm

I think I've asked before, but I forget...

What are those three bolt holes for on the front driver's side of the engine?

And can I mount 15 pounds worth of stuff on one safely?

Those are alternative engine mounting bolt holes. They actually are on both sides. Interesting side note is the 4BT automotive engine mounts bolt right on in this location. Then the other mounting set are the four on the front that uses the U shaped mount that goes under the balancer and are used with the SAE engine adapter. That should be enough of my worthless knowledge on alternative engine mounts :?

Engine mounts on the top of the engine, eh?

Well, if that's the case, I wouldn't be hesitant to hang 15 pounds off the side of it.

Fuel heater shall be installed!

The three on the top front on the cylinder head are accessory mounts. I have a vacuum pump that will mount in that location. Did I get the right three this time? :?

It would have been easier if he had said "on top of the head"

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Yeah, I'm talking about the three on the head that say "peek-a-boo!" when you open the hood.

I don't mind thinking they're alternative engine mounts if you want my to...
