Cleaning my DV's?

Postby ZSkibo » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:15 am

Just out of nagging suspicion I want to clean my delivery valves on the VE since I blew up the shutoff solenoid last yearand went the cable route. Just want to make sure there's no rubber bits in there ya know? Anyway, do they just unscrew from the VE head or is it a more involved process? If yes, what i the retorque spec on them? Any suggestions as for cleaning them and what to look for?

I'd be more worried about internals (H&R tightness, camplate and rollers, etc) than the delivery valves. If it has been running for a year, I would leave it alone.

But, if you are bound and determined to clean the DVs, they just unscrew from the head of the pump. Not sure on retorque. There is a little copper sealing washer in each one that needs to be replaced when you reinstall.
