Will the 24v exhaust manifold bolt onto the 12v? A local guy told me they will but the ports need a bit of reshaping, this true?

Yup! The 12v ports are squarish and the 24v ports are roundish. Go on almost any of the performance exhaust websites and you can see the difference.
