bad idal after takin off the welder!

Postby randyswelding » Mon Jan 18, 2010 5:35 pm

ok so im back now that i have time been buissy  got the welder off to get some work done and got in the truck and started the dang thing and it didnt want to idal fuel pump mods include no afc, fuelscrew turned 3/4 turn from runaway and the throttle linkage is clocked on 2 or 3 i dont remember. its ran fine well better than fine then took the welder off and its takin way too long to start! also i dont know if this would have any thing to do with it but when you push the clutch pedal the sylinoid on the pedal wont let the truck start (it is pluged in unlike what i found before when the green connecter comes undone) could that have anything to do with it and can i just tie those 2 wires together and bypass that switch?thanks guys any info is thanked :D

The clutch switch only controls the starter, not the running. You're saying that it turns over, but doesn't start right away? Sounds like you're getting air in someplace and fuel is draining back.
If it's not turning over, you can hook the wires and bypass the switch, temporarily. ;)

ill have to check the fittings for the fuel line but its 1/2'' line from the air dog to the pump with only 1 slice in the hose for the fuel pressure gauge. and why does it have to be temp and how do i fix it or is it adjustable. and i now wana know why when i look the welder off it did it i mean heck shell have it back on in a week

Temporary is a "cover my a$$" thing. I don't want your ol' lady to sue me if the truck runs over you a few years from now. ;)
Air can be getting in on the return side too, seen lots of those lately.

well i found part of the reason, the return T was a little loose so i tightened that and its still takes a little bite of time to start but not as bad as it was before so im still in the search, but i did make 334hp/820tq with 1/8 bump timin and 348hp/822tq with the ksb switch on so i got a leak somewhere.
