Anyone have the diagram to rebuild an Wh1C?

Postby eyoung429 » Tue May 08, 2007 11:34 am

Made it into work this am after my rig all of the sudden went to 1100egt and spewing tons of smoke....couldn't get her above 45mph before the egt's started going out the door.

got her to work and let it idle...hmmm...doesn't sound like anything is wrong....good oil pressure, good temps, good fuel psi.

put it into gear and tried to get to 20mph and nothing but black smoke and temps starting to soar. shut her down and got underneath and didn't see anything wrong, checked the brakes- working fine, parking brake not on....popped the hood and noticed that I had additional airflow through the rubber tubing leading to the turbo.

Pulled it off and looked....hmmm...isn't there supposed to be an impeller here???? Ahhhh, there is part of it sticking in the housing cocked at an angle.

I am guessing this puppy seized up and snapped the shaft.

have to drive her home (50miles) and piss a lot of ppl off tonight. But I do have a spare that is in parts and would like to get a diagram of how everything goes back together if someone would be so kind....

Or, does anyone have a cheap stocker with no play for sale that will bolt in?

Dunno....lost my first one to an airfilter that got water in it, froze and then broke apart causing all kinds of a nasty mess to the turbo. 2nd went when I was out putzing around and wasn't watching my oil pressure, nailed it coming out of a corner and was at half boost when the bearings seized up on her. This one bit it when I was actually driving like a responsible person....was about 5 miles from work when she started smokin', egt's went through the roof and had no power. went through over half a tank of fuel driving home but didn't see anyone behind me as I couldn't get her over 30mph without the egt's going skyward.....but I will say that there are no mosquitoes anywhere near my house :) I yanked it off after I got home and just threw it in the trash. Rebuilt one is at 3.5k miles and still singing great!!
