Alright this happened today after driving on a road that had more holes than gravel chunks on it, and it was a gravel road! it was a crawling only situation cause it was so rough. so after this road i turned onto a main street and drove to the street light ahead, when i came to a stop the truck almost sounded liek it was goign to die. it was idleign rough like it is loaded down at idle. i figured i might of sucked in some air. some times i can draw the fuel pressure down enough that when you stopp it idles bad and requires me to get on the throttle to get fuel back in the system. so i did that same thing again. from idle it is hard to increase rpm it kinda smokes black when doing so, just a gentle throttle increase from stop till turbo spools. i figrured it was just the air filter got wet and making it lag like this. so got home took the flter off and same thing happens. so i change the fuel filter. a bunch of nasty black sludge came out of that. i figured that was my problem but it still does this. so in neutral my pyro will read 300 after sitting a while and 400 after driving. when you engage it into drive or rev, it will automatically lugg down the engine and teh pyro will slowly climb to 600. you can hold the pedal to the floor all you want it will just smoke then let go of brake then it will lagg for a few seconds then slowly take off then back to original power. upper rpm is the same but lower is lost. usually if i powerbrake this truck it will just quickly break the tires loose and roast them but it iwll not do that now just smoke. i am still seeing my max boost maybe a little less. so i dont think it is intercooler boots, turbo spins freely also. it is almost as if the tranny is like holding the engine down. almost as if the so called stall speed of the convertor dropped a few hunrded rpms so it doesnt give it time to power up. what is going on here guys? is this a tranny problem or a engine problem?
