WH1C downpipe?

Postby dazedandconfused » Fri May 18, 2007 5:32 pm

Is the downpipe for a WH1C the same as on a HX35 and HY35? Were is the cheapest place to get a 4" downpipe for this? Is this a better charger then a HY35? Who has done the HTT upgrades to theres? Sorry for all the questions guys but I need some awnsers.

The H1c and a HX35 use the same exhaust housing. So if your using the normal nonwasted gated housing. Then they both would use the same down pipe.

As far as the Hy turbo. I have no idea about it.

I think Stans is the only shop making a true 4" down pipe. I installed a 4" exhaust on my truck a while back. Stans was the only place I could find it. There a quite a few places to get a 3.5" down pipe. Then they step to a 4" system from there back.

Thanks for the info, I was told the HY and Hx are the same downpipe so that should work. Do you have a link to a site for that downpipe?

I think later model HX35's, as well as the HY35's, have an elbow built into the back plate on the exhaust housing. The earlier HX35's, the WH1C's, and H1C's have v-band outlets that will attach directly to your stock downpipe.

You are correct after looking at my charger that is the way it is.

You can use your exhaust housing on either turbo. I recently put an HX-35 on my truck, and didn't even remove the housing.

If you go with a later exhaust housing. They are waste gated. Our stock down pipe needs to be shorted about 1 1/4" to fit properly. The housing with the turn down I don't know what needs to be done.

Here is a link for stans.

Here is a link with a pic of my down pipe from stans.
