Anybody see those fancy belt-driven lift pumps?

Postby Begle1 » Mon Jun 04, 2007 3:27 pm

The Duramax and VP guys have those MITUSA belt-driven fuel pumps now.

Since my truck has no air conditioner and wan't something to be mounted there... Anybody have any ideas where I could find a pump that'd work to do it?

How much fluid does a typical power steering pump flow? Seems to me that a pressure regulator before the injection pump, with a flow that'd increase with speed...

Things that make you go hmmm

Are they self priming, and are they designed for longevity

we ran belt driven fuel pumps in two different configurations from two different manufacturers, on our last pulling truck.

They were very expensive, had to be lower than the fuel supply, and needed to be rebuilt every season. New belt every season.

And you needed a bypass regulator, and return lines etc etc.

Very expensive bling bling in my humble opinion and not necessary on most vehicles including race only.
