Postby ellis93 » Sun May 02, 2010 1:25 pm

My buddy and I are fightin over the correct way to set the valves on his 92 dodge. He says one at the time. I said he's crazy. I need a link to something that says the right way to do it. I'm not turnin that motor that many times. From memory u only turn it twice.

hey-Hey!!!,
The right way to set the valves depends on having the lifter riding the cam's base circle. How you get it there is a matter of convenience. While there is certainly a means of achieving a minimum number of radians to turn the crank through, that hardly puts all others as less correct.
cheers,

Cummins spent hundreds of thousands of dollars perfecting these motors to run a certain way, think I will do it their way. No disrespect to any one that has their own way of doing it. Thanks for all input.
