Alright, you guys talked me into it. I'm gonna try it myself. Tim, if I get in over my head, I might get ahold of you. I'd love to take i down there Bill, but I got a pretty tight schedule with 2 jobs, so a whole day to head down there is hard to come by. I think I'm gonna call Scheid's and order the parts, as I assume they'd know what I was talking about. FWIW, I do remember taking the IP apoart at SOP, but I also remember the method of reassembly included Pete turning the whole pump upside down to attach the spring. I really doubt I can do it that way in the truck, especially my first time

Should I get a seal kit, or just snag another o-ring for the screw from my local place? They gave me one free last time. Am I going to need to replace more than just that o-ring?

Don't blame the upside down pump thing on me! I was out trying to time Daniels truck with the wrong tools! Get the kit, then you have seals for anything, pump top, whatever. Plus, it saves you a trip if something else starts leaking. Push the shaft out, then pull the spring. Like 2muchtq and seeker said, watch the piece the spring is attached to, it will fly out if you pull up on it. (I did that too!)
Bondhus is just the name brand of allen wrenchs, I used regular ones, no problems.
Just take it easy, don't get in a hurry. :D

Nooo, "Allen" is a brand name of "hex keys", whereas "Bondhus" is a brand name of "ball-end hex keys"...

God bless irony.

you dont have to push the throttle shaft out - you push the spring and top hat assembly rear ward so the spring eye will slide up the slot in the arm - then when free just flip the top over, remove tophat and spring, replace with new spring and reinstall tophat on the spring.
Flip top over, slide spring/tophat back down the slot, and set top in place - done.

Don't use the ball end allen wrench to break the screws loose. They are very soft and will strip if they are stuck.

Take a allen of the right size (6mm right? Been awhile) and cut the 90* off, so you have about 1 1/2" on 1 side. Use that to break them loose. Now you should have a stick of a allen wrench. Take it to the grinder and round off each of the 6 sides. Now it should represent a well used eraser off a pencil. Use that to spin it the rest of the way out.

Clear as farm water?

You must not be using genuine Bondhus ball end hex keys...

I don't think it really takes much torque on those bolts to keep things from leaking. Mine are only one sigh tight. Didn't even put a grunt on them.

Jeff, go buy a cheap 13 mm wrench and bend it around! That's what I did, works good. Actually, the wrench was free, my buddy had a few sets of junk wrenches and I grabbed one. Just make sure you bend it this way o^ . (sorry, best i could do with the keyboard!)

So I just got done and took it for a drive. Down on power a bit, but I can fix that tomorrow in the daylight. No leaks, went pretty smooth for the most part, excapt that dang tophat. At one point the gov spring let go and shot the top hat every where. The pin and the spring hit the floor, the washer was mia for about an hour. Found it laying in a small puddle of water laying on the driver side splash sheild. Oh well.
