I'm afraid of the ricer tip, I'm already having trouble keeping it hooked up in any gear but 5th with these wheels, even idling through town it gets sideways when I let the clutch out into the next gear. That tip would probably put me into the 5th gear range of my traction limits and I just don't think my lunchbox locker could handle that.

Pretty impressive what my truck is capable of when I have a reason to make it up... ;)

Speaking of my diff, my drivetrain guy gave me a call yesterday. Turns out a fellow 1stgenner had a pinion problem on his 3.54 truck and brought him a 3.07 housing and gearset. Wanted him to put the 3.54 pow-r-lok in that housing with the 3.07 gears. How random is it that everything I went through perfectly applied to a job that came walking in his door not much later? Dude apparently hot-shots with it, I suggested a 3.07 gear may be a bit much for a 1stgen that towed that heavy but it's what dude wanted. At least he knows it'll work. 8)

Happy B-day, Andy, you looked into any aftermarket yokes that truck of yours? I bought a 1410 yoke for my front D60, it wasn't too bad. Maybe there's such an option for as 9"?

These guys seem to have one.

Anybody ever hear of a "farm special" made in the mid '90's? I was talking to a guy today who said he has one. It's a 3/4 ton truck with heavier driveline parts all thru it, wheel bearings, brakes, axles, etc. He said every time he needs parts he has to get them thru dodge or take the parts to be matched up.
Just wondering if anybody else has heard of one.

Sounds like a liar's special to me.

I know my W250 calls for all the heavy parts in the front end, there are lighter options but AFAIK a only 2wd's use them.

Nah, too small.

Plus, some of those inlets are way too big. I kept the stock 3.5" stuff, better velocity. 8)
