Dman, I'd guess worn bushings and/or springs causing excessive inner wear. You need remote control air shocks to compensate on the fly for whatevers goin on back there. On another note, my alternator is randomly giving me issues. Couple days ago I fired i up it wasn't charging, so I shut it off, disconnected and reconnected the battery, and it started working again. Not sure whats up with that. Also pulled my dads 81 yamaha 250 exciter (if you call 20 hp exciting) out of storage after 12-13 years, it only has 12000 kms on it, and he was planning on giving it to a neighbour for 200$. Well, thats not happening now lol. After a thorough wash and degreasing the back wheel of chain lube, it looks almost like a new bike. An oil change, some pre-lubing, and a shot of ether, it fired right up and runs the same as it did the last time I heard it run. I'm assuming it had fuel stabilizer put in it to run that good on old gas. All I need now is a battery, which I'm hopefully getting tmo. I'm going to buy it (for somewhat more than $200) as I need extra wheels anyway. 70 mpg is what it's rated at, if I can get anywhere close to that I'll be happy. It will do 125-130 kph flat out, but pretty underpowered for the highway. Good little around town/backroad bike though. Looking forward to putting around on it, but it'll sure seem slow compared to a 110 hp cbr600.

I've been thinking a lot lately about insurance and these trucks in the event of an accident. The jaw dropping prices these trucks are to be had for are far from being reflected in the eyes of insurance companies.

If something were to happen to my truck, number 1 I'd take a minute to puke, number 2 I know these trucks are blue booked for what, maybe $4-$7k depending?

Is antique insurance the only way to potentially get close to what your truck is worth should something happen?

Yeah, I can see the bushings aren’t in great shape, and the springs mightn’t be in the best condition. The “plan” at this point is poly bushings, and coilovers. Ultimately I want to be able to confidently track this car.

Got the new battery for the bike filled and charged last night. It's a little bigger than the stock battery, took me 10 mins to get it back out of the bike after cramming it into the battery box. I think the main jet is a bit plugged as I gotta run with the choke open a little to get decent acceleration out of it.
Found a couple iffy grounds on the truck, which got the alternator working again.

fixing to order last 2 things for rewire of my 93, cable and cable lugs. What gauge would be recommended for alternator to mega fuse holder, #8, #6, #4 gauge? Will be going back to the old style chryco separate voltage regulator, thinking about floor dimmer switch for grid heaters. 40 or 60 amp relay for headlights? Got to inventorying my oliver cummins conversion parts, have lost track of the fuel tank, crap! Anyone got a 4 number series oliver tank laying around?

Ok, I'm pissed! I went to pull the truck out today and put the battery charger on it as a precaution, went to start it about a half hour later and it barely turned over. So I left it for a few hours and still wasn't happy enough to start. Looks like it's time to spend $ on a new battery! :x

So I suspect the pump in my car has given up on me. It was running fine, then just quit, and won’t restart. It is throwing a code for the shutoff solenoid. Gutted that, and it still won’t start, and it’s not putting much fuel out. I’m going to pick up an 11mm pump on Friday, and hopefully that fixes it.
