Id like to get a $280 3000 Watts gen head from northern and couple it to the diesel, but about the only online stocker I see is alibaba. Anyone dealt with a site like that before?

Unless you are only running a coffee pot, I suggest at least a 4500 watt generator with a 5k surge. A 5000 /5500 will run most houses if the power is out. I used a little 1400w the few times the power was out here, even the coffee pot kicks the Shit out of it! I then found a nice Chinese 5000 on sale locally and picked that up. I hooked up an air compressor with the drain open some, then ran it off the genny for about an hour. Changed the oil and called it good. I read that those Chinese ones that's the thing to do because there is so much leftover metal in them. It had a little bit in the oil but not what I would call a lot. I've only had to use it about twice since then, figures, I needed it a lot before I bought it.
And I bought 1 thing off Alibaba, didn't have any problems.

I used my dad's 1500 watt Honda to plug in the block heater on the 90 this spring, it had itself revved right out when plugged in. Probably about the same wattage as a coffee pot. (600-800 watts)

I've been saying every fall since I've lived in my current house I need to get a generator before winter. Maybe this will be the year it happens.

I figured somewheres around there. I gotta track down another short on the truck, left headlight is dim, left signal indicator stuck on, and no left signal.Gotta track that down before doing the heater core. I hate wiring.

Bad ground up in that corner buddy. I biggie sized my headlight grounds to 12ga wire. I soldered it to the ground terminal and put an eye on the other end and added a screw with a star washer to the core support.

Yup, ground wire was disconnected in front of the battery, found it yesterday before work. So I took it to work. Now the 4runner feels really slow again lol.

Bought a couple 10" and a 14" pipe wrench today and gave the 4 runner a wheel alignment. It was pigeon toed so bad you could see it from 50 yards away. Eyeballed it straight, steers much better now around town, goes straight but still sketchy on the hwy. I will have to mess around with it some more another day. It was really bad before. If one steer tire hit snow and the other was still on pavement, it would swerve towards the snow.

Thanks Remps and Donkey Kong I'll check them out. I love the toyo m55s on my truck and I cant think of a single downside to them......except $300 per tire.

Pete Ive got a vanguard powered 7000 watt gen, but to just run the fridge and/or some heaters (maybe 3000 watts) that thing has a lust for gasoline. If I could use diesel power I could use my oil supply to run a looong time if need be.

That being said, I love talking about it but it probably won't go into motion.....ever

Really? I never noticed mine to be that thirsty. Maybe just bite the bullet and buy a diesel all ready to go?
I'd rather have gas powered, I always keep 4 or 5 cans full all winter just in case, then never need them!

If running a big "lopsided" load on a generators head out of the 110 outlets, like a fridge and a heater, it can load the generator head harder, working the engine harder and reducing life of the generator head. One could however use the 220 which feeds evenly off the generator head and split it back to 110. I'd imagine it would have even more of an effect when running near peak output. Something I read in a book once lol. I've seen 8-10 hp diesels for sale at princess auto for 5_$600 bucks.

Up here they just shoot the back of your vehicle, and send the ticket to whomever the vehicle is registered to. Alberta doesn’t require front plates either.
