2024 BS and Chat Thread

I MISS FORUMS

My truck is still running. Just did the annual oil change. Need to do another Fluid Film application soon. Pretty much willing to buy a turbo setup from the filter to the head at this point. But it runs.

Rear main started leaking around a year or two after rebuild, so that sucks.

Been spending all my play money on guns, but the drag strip and shooting range are still closed on Maui.

I also miss forums.

I still have the engine out and apart from mine. Work slowed way down and I haven't wanted to spend the money for new main and rod bearings.

Ditto. Put a snow pow on the truck, plowed the 1st snow, then the fuel system froze/jelled up. Been parked ever sense waiting for the thaw. Had trouble with it all summer and wound up with a tank full of summer fuel when the temperature plopped. Got the fuel in the tank unjelled, but there is an ice clog somewhere restricting fuel.

I'm still alive. Hiding inside until the weather breaks.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

We have had such a mild winter this year. We've gotten very little snow and it keeps getting warm and melting a lot of it.

2/3 of the way through March and things are starting to thaw. Still have 6' snow drifts in the yard but starting to see the gravel in the driveway again. Bad winter for us. Record to near record snowfalls around my area with some -30° days. Warming into the 40°s during the day now. 1st gen is still dead. Something in the fuel system. I can bleed out the system and it runs for half a minute then chokes out. I think it is either a fuel return or tank vent problem. When it runs, it runs great.

I stopped having supply issues once I put the sump in.

Made some progress on the engine though. Got the second drain installed in the pan and have been picking away at honing the cylinders. Still waiting on main bearings but post will everything else for the engine is in.

Anyone have any thoughts on stuff to clean the water jackets in the block and head? Mine are pretty built up with residue.
