Multiples of three?

Postby 69HemiGTX » Tue Mar 06, 2012 8:19 pm

You know how they say that things happen in threes? Well, I sold a high-pinion ball joint Dana 60 that has been inhabiting the bed of my truck last evening, and I just unloaded my 89 Mustang GT a few hours ago. :D That leaves one more thing to sell, and it's in the works. It feels good to get some of that stress off my back.

Funny, I have that very axle, a 1993 with the 4.10 ratio, in the bed of MY pick-up and I can't get $400 for it. :?
Any day you can get rid of extra FORD stuff is indeed a very GOOD day.

Shoot Mark! back when I wanted to do a solid axle on my Suburban, that axle would have been perfect! The only reason I ended up not doing it was because everybody and thier brother wanted $1000 plus for an axle like that

Yeah, it seems like there's many uses for them, like the 2nd gen guys want them for the lockouts and spindle stuff.
Also, apparently, some of the Ford guys will convert them to kingpin.

Either way, $400 seems to be premium $$$ for it.

It's gotta' be the "Nebraska Thang".

I know them rock crawlin types like them high pinion axles, $400 is a steal for something like that. I sold two D60's a while back, DRW with 4.56's in them, got $700 each for them on fleabay ;)

I did.
Got one lowball offer for the housing and gears and the same guy suggested that I could sell the outers to someone to convert a 2nd gen to lockouts.
I told him to buy it for the price and HE could deal with parting it out.

Crickets replied.

Even odder is I have the same axle for sale. Many calls but no one with any cash. had a guy try to offer me less then half my asking price then get all pissed off when I wouldn't take his offer.

Congratulations! It's nice to have cash-in-hand that the socialists won't get any taxes out of. I was in the same situation. The cheapest one I could find around here was $900, over 400 miles away, and didn't even have calipers. I sold mine to a Soldier I work with, and he's happier than a pig in slop. I got $500 for mine, and both he and I feel it was a more than fair deal.

Agreed. I got rid of two FoMoCo products within 24 hours. I liked the Mustang, but it was too impractical because my wife can't drive a manual, our son's car seat wouldn't fit too good in the back seat, and I'm headed back to Korea again, so it would just continue to sit. It's better that someone gets some use out of it than letting it collect dust.

Cash sales are always the best. They get enough of my money in income tax, sales tax, and property tax.

Fuel tax, court surcharges, hospital bill tax, phone bill tax. Have you looked at some of your bills lately? A court surcharge is $85! My wife got a "no inspection" ticket and paid a $25 fine and the surcharge. OUCH :!:
