I get probably 2-3 calls a week with someone telling me that their hx35 truck does 400+hp to the ground. Even on stock injectors.

One gentleman (may be the one in that add) did 386? On all stock stuff, and an hx35. But this was on DNRCustom's dyno. Which judging by what his VERY IMPRESSIVE blue truck does.......... is still outrageously high compared to the average dyno.

I don't get what the point of that outright lying is. The only people it impresses are the ones that don't know anything.

If you want to sell more parts I've found out it's more profitable with less headaches to just sell what they ask for. As soon as you try to talk them out of some poor choices that you know won't work it leads to problems and less parts sold. I used to give advice and try to help customers spend their money smart. But that leads to arguments about what they read, or what their brothers friends dad's third cousin said. I also am done playing fix my truck for free via 200 phone calls. Maybe I'm a prick but it's gotten old and honestly I've sold more parts in the process. The only ones I help are long term customers or ones that ask honest real questions about a product.

I don't think most lie. I feel they hit a high dyno and want to believe it.

Superflow......... the record breaking dyno.

The Alligator day out here they always have 2 dynos. One is for the "average joe" and is usually stupidly stingy. The other is always for the "big boys" (Industrial Injection, Custom Auto, etc...) and that dyno throws down massive numbers with the lower modded trucks.

Redneckroot = Can't say I get in any arguments with my customers over what is best. I find that if one LISTENS to what they are looking for, and one explains (with their needs in mind) what I feel is best for them. The correct parts are then chosen for the customer.

Anyone ever get into arguments about why a truck will blow a headgasket? I had one a few hours ago, and it was fairly ridiculous. People really seem to believe there's only one thing that makes one blow, and it's a bit of a headache trying to straighten them out

It's pretty crazy how so many of the 1st gen guys know so much in performance. Though we don't make much (for power).

It is always "home" talking things with the old school crowd.

Speaking of blowing head gaskets Dman and Eric. Best way to prevent an 07 6.7 from blowing a head gasket again? He wants to do head studs and mentioned a wastegate. He has a smarty jr on it. Is it boost or a back pressure/combustion problem?? I don't think he has gauges so I don't know what he is pushing for boost or egts.

A gate is a waste IMO. A guy on cf is still getting a 1:1.8 boost:dp ratio with one, and custom tuning from anarchy (though apparently they don't actually play with the vgt maps). Tuning the vgt properly makes more difference, but the best way to get rid of the problem is to ditch the factory crap, and put on an s400.
