trans build and converter is coming fast for me, I made a really good deal on a new 2016 camper in NC 9 hours away, but no way I can haul my truck camper out and pull back a 25 ft 7,000 lb travel trailer......so I guess I gota let it pass.

but that is a really good reason to do it, this dang "time" we all need is hard to come buy.

Isn't that the truth about time.

Will an hx35 keep up with ddp 4 nozzles/injectors if I detune my pump? Will an he351 support them?

An he351 could keep up. I doubt the hx could though. With a 60mm wheel my hybrid kept up fine with my ddp stage 3's. Of the 4 turbo setups I've had with these injectors I like the compounds best.

Anyone ever install a single steering damper on one of our trucks? I have the stock one off my 4th gen I'm thinking of building some brackets, and installing, and I'm wondering how I would set it up (would I run it fully compressed on the one lock, or should it still be out just a bit?)

Those would be great Pete. I found some online but you know how that goes sometimes.

I'll see if I can scan them for you in the next day or so. PM me an e-mail addy when you get a chance.

Will do

I had one on my 91 before I rebuilt it, still have it. I removed it because the seal was out and it was leaking oil. I just never got around to getting a replacement cylinder for it. It looked to be an Skyjacker universal kit.

Dumb question for someone who's been around these trucks as long as I have, but on the W-250 front axle (my dad's 90) is there a bearing on the inner side of the kingpin in the tube to hold the axle shaft in place? There seems to be play in his axle and it would make sense if there's a bad bearing there, but since i've never owned a W model myself...

The is a needle bearing inside the hub spindle none in the axle tube itself.

Most people forget when the front end is apart for a brake job to remove the spindle and throw some grease at that needle bearing.

Thanks Philip! Dad's truck has over 450,000 miles on it and to my knowledge that bearing has never been greased or replaced.

As a side note, dad and I were talking new trucks today I calculated that the depreciation on that truck has cost him less than $.02 per mile! Pretty Sweet. 8)

I've been pretty quiet here lately as well. I think the 14 bs thread will likely be my most posted in thread for a long time. I did finally break the 4000 post mark on cf today in my 4th gen build thread. I celebrated by posting 20 more times in various places. I should probably update my build thread on here since I actually have some updates.
