I've been watching the DPC youtube videos over the last few days.

I know there is absolutely no way, but who would agree that the RC would be just bad ass at that event? Obviously it would need a p pump (cuz I don't see a 14 living, but hey... ).

I just feel that would be the absolute best "throw back" of all time.

If you want to waste a ton of cash and still be embarrassed it sounds like a wonderful idea.

I agree on the cash thing, the metric ton of $$ dumped into that thing is nuts.

Embarrassment is a perspective thing. I'd never be embarrassed for the dude rocking a square in a field of blobs, but our trucks are so light that I think you'd be in trouble. You'd either have to go with a full power/drag setup or throw a bunch of wieght to it so it would stand a better chance at the pulling stuff.

Lose/lose IMO, unless you've already got a full drag setup.

I don't see a non-CR truck competing in DPC at its current location.

I'd love to see a stand alone 6.7L in a 1st gen. (hint hint ;) ) A mechanical truck making 750-1000 hp at elevation is a basket case. Back when it was in Louisville, a few mechanical trucks could compete.

It's a sad world we live in

If you could find an H pump, and if you could it to put out in the 1000cc range I don't think it'd be nearly as problematic for spooling. Though something I was thinking of doing with The Roo Hunter to try and get into dpc was a 14mm p pump 6.7 with a 400/500 compound setup. Even if it took a bit to spool that amount of fuel would still get you some big numbers

Power ain't the problem, breakage is.

Honestly, a VE truck could probably place above last just because it doesn't have the power to tear anything up. I think people are starting to figure that out though and power may be coming back down. A few years ago I think you could have come in 4th or 5th by just still moving.

I have a friend that competed a few years ago in his 6.4 Ford. His truck put down 850hp on nitrous and he said it wasn't enough to hang with the big guys out there. He said he needed at least 1000hp to be with the rest of the trucks. This was 2011 when Dimitri put down 1300+ HP and another 6.4 put down 1150+HP.

2 years ago the most powerful truck didn't win. He was consistent. Power isn't everything, it is how it is used and the drivers skill. Lavon Miller I have had the pleasure of meeting before his DPC win this last time. He is as tall as a leprechaun's knee. He has a huge offset wheel. He still placed very well in the trailer tow when his powersteering pump went out.

Lavon is over a thousand HP in that truck too.

The Ramcharger weighs in at over 6800#. It weighs less than 200# lighter than the '06 quad cab, short box.

Weighed would be zero issue.

Issues......the trailer obstacle course would be a lot tougher with a short wheel base/LIFTED rig. However, I used to be a storage manager for a marina for 6 years. I used to back up boat trailers for a living, doing it 50 times a day.

Drag race/trailer drag.... it would have to get a built auto.

Fuel economy..... it could hold its own

Dyno.... well, we all know what it would take.

But at least it would be reliable.

As far as mechanical vs electric. I would normally agree..... but a lower rpm engine with massive gates can allow for a quicker spooling set up, yet still using nitrous. Which is how they are all making the power anyways.

How does that thing weigh that much? Mine weighs 5600 with a full tank and I think it's a porker...

What does your RC have for running gear? Also, I have Traction bars, 37" Toyos, a FULLY loaded RC (all the nice things on the inside.

Not all of these things are a big deal in themselves, but they do start adding up.

Couple hundred extra pounds in tires (these tires weigh 100# a piece), traction bar ship weight is well over 100#, Dana 80 weighs a sh!t load more than a 70, nv4500 (I assume?) weighs more than an auto.....

Either way, I've weighed them both on the same scale, on the same scale (RC vs 06) And the 06 came in pretty much right on the nuts of factory curb weight.
