I'd love to have that. I can't find any around here with titles.

You could get a bonded title. Cost a little I think and a little more paper work but might be worth it. I almost ended up with a 76 duster also but I have to store my stuff at my moms and she's throwing a fit about all my trucks and my brothers and dad's stuff. She's going to flip when I get this other one.

I knew I was playing with fire by leaving it, but my steering box bracket decided it'd had enough of being just minorly cracked, and has let go. My first clue was the steering wheel going upside down all of a sudden.

My 96 lost about 230 of my 250ish hp this morning, 4 seconds to fire up. Had to launch in reverse out of the driveway at 1500 rpm to keep from stalling. After looking at the ip for a couple mins I noticed the fss bracket had cracked and had bent down slightly. Readjusted the solenoid rod up about 1/8", and voila, full power again! Gonna need to make a new bracket eventually, hopefully the p pump motor is outa this truck by then.

Meh, lost about 100 ponys today, guess the bracket isn't holding. Time to bust out the bailing wire. 8)

Anyone else ever do that thing where your do that little extra mile thing to make your truck look better, and the being up close to it for that long makes you realize just how terrible of shape that part really is? Cause I did with my wheels yesterday. Next time I do them it's going to take a ton of wet sanding, and work to get them smooth, and presentable. Right now they're only good from a distance.

Oh right. Well now I have a timeline of when I need to get these wheels into the kind of shape I'd feel good about selling them in.

Start with 1K paper, then 2k, 3k, then jump to 5k. Throw polish and done. If you don't have rivets on the rims figure about an hour each.

Oh they have rivets. With how bad some of the spots are I might start with 600, and work my way up from there. I was thinking I'd end up with about 20 hours to do all 4 how I want. Just the polishing on them took me 2 hours each this time.

I almost think I like them better the rough look.
My apologies to Philip, It took me about 3 hours to polish my 1st one, I just finished the 2nd one, and it took about an hour. There was a learning curve there I fell off of. My buddy helped me out 1/2 way thru the 1st one too. I wirewheel the bolts, then I start with Wab polish and a scotchbrite pad to clean the whole thing. I cut a pad to fit my drill, and do the recessed holes with that. Then I wipe it down, and use Mothers with a Powerball to go over the whole thing. Big difference. I posted a pic on the FB, I have 2 more to do. Maybe tomorrow if I get motivated. Or maybe not. ;)

The one on the right was after acid. They didn't look that good before. I found on the rivets polishing compound on an 8 inch wheel works better than anything else I've ever tried.

I got mine done! I polished them, washed the compound off the tires, and painted those stupid bolts black. Hopefully that will hold the rust back. I put in a center and put 1 wheel on the truck and the center is loose. Tomorrow I'll look for some 5 inch o-rings to hold them tight. I also got my bike washed!
