That cam swap was a breeze. All it takes is the magic fingers to feel the cam in and out and seat the dowell rods in the lifters. A guy could make a killing doing this mechanic stuff. Poke, poke Ellis93

This was my morning. Industrial p pump 12 valve in brush cutter. The piston is from #5. 2 of the other pistons had scuffing on the skirts, and 2 of the cylinders had marks from having water in them, and being left to sit. All the crank journals looked good though.

Interesting note this is an encore block, and has cracked cap rods. It's also interesting to see a p pump that isn't a p7100. The entire pump case is different, and the governor assembly is more like an m pump

So the 24V donor had oil all over the drivers side. After steam cleaning it looks like there is a issue with the tappet cover.

Is that the cover separating or is that the insulation? Can't really tell, pic is a little blurry.

I can't tell but its leaking from the cover. It was a oily mess from the bottom of it down. I guess I'll be pulling it all apart since its easy to get to right now.

Looks like the insulation is coming off. The gasket is probably rock hard and not sealing, it's what they do.

Yeah the gasket I see is harder then hell. I'll replace it before it goes in the Ford. That was the only real place I saw it leaking.

Seen a couple pics on the web of Borg Warners latest efr update, built in spool valve in the turbine housing. They'd make a nice turbo if they would put a bigger turbine wheel in them. Garrett also now has a gtx 4594r.

Found my lope issue. O-ring between fuel heated and head. The filter nipple wasn't even hand tight! threw it back together and now I hit 1600* get at 70mph. Before it'd be 85-90mph.

I talked to someone a few weeks ago about those efr turbos. By his reckoning they're a great gas job race car turbo. Not so great at dealing with what diesels put out

Well the NV4500 kicked my ass tonight. I just couldn't get the bearings off the dam thing. Guess I'll go for round 2 tomorrow after work.

andy I've had those kinda problems for a while not. Everything that is supposed to go easy kicks me in the kcid and the more difficult jobs are still difficult. Everything seems to be turning to schit on me here lately

The chevy is slowly consuming itself,I found the noise I've been looking for......in the injection pump. Did that by chance, just poking around under the hood while it was running. Happened to touch the injection lines and felt of the first four. 1 thru 3 has a little pulse feeling and number 4 has a hard thump. The other two feel like the first three,so I'd say that the law of averages says number four is screwed up.
Looks as if I may do the 24v ve thing sooner than later, ain't no way I'm putting a new(er) pump on a 350k engine.

Yes I've clocked 28k miles on this thing since putting it on the road.

That's the way its been going here so far this week Ellis. Cleaned out the parts washer at dads to find the pump was broke in it last night. I cleaned about half the gears really well last night and that Purple Power I use tore my hands up. Decided to take the V-Box out of the work truck which is a simple one man deal and the wind caught it smaking the tail light breaking it. Maybe time for me to slow down a bit.
