You ever see a 1st gen diesel BOX TRUCK?

Postby Diesel » Sun Aug 28, 2011 11:50 am

I was thinking I could probably use a box truck. I mean something like a uhaul. I really don't like too many new trucks and I think I would want a 1st gen cummins with the box on the back. Has anyone ever seen something like that? Post pictures if you have them!

My dad framed out of a 93 with a 5-speed and a 16ft box for years. Uncle also used a 91 for a plumbing truck, a 12 ft box with a pipe rack. No pictures of either of them right now.

hey-Hey!!!,
I saw one, owned by the State College Maytag dealer. Nice factory-looking job on a club cab, loooong chassis. No pix, and I wasn't too interested in it since it was always driven by somebody who didn't own it.
cheers,

The long wheel base cab and chasis like mine can commonly be found with 12 or 14ft boxes. There was one here in town for sale until just a month ago or so.

There s a sweet 2nd gen cube that delivers stuff here in my area, 600K and going strong. Haven't seen a first gen one yet though.

Here's one, a 1992.
I used to do the Mopar shows and saw these guys and the truck frequently:

There is a local vending company that had a IC 1st gen box truck. It was kind of a backup rig for them. Their normal delivery truck was a 24 valve 2nd gen. When it went down they brought the 1st gen out of moth balls.

That company sold out a while back. I don't know what happened to it. The new owners use chevy's.
