Yup Philip, it ran right at him and turned right at the end and kept on going. He got lucky. I really like both guns in this thread. For a concealed weapon I would go with the break action, smaller one.

You would be suprised. It doesn't do that much. It doesn't expand very much. Now take and drill the end. Then put a BB into it. Then it will exand some.

In close a load of #4's would do better. At 15' a load of #4's out of a DD will normaly cover the center of a sheet of plywood pretty well. At 6' or less your looking at a 8" pattern. That will mess up someones day pretty bad and fast.

Within touching range. It would act like a shark bang stick. Instant jello inside.

With 45 LC silver tips. 15' normaly would keep the rounds inside the 8 ring on a B57 target.

Now remember they also make those DD in 45/70 rifle. No I have not shot one. A shop I used to deal with kept trying to get me to shot the one they had. I told them the only way that would happen was when a bear ran into the shop and was about to bite my hand. At that point I don't think the recoil would have mattered. I would have pulled the trigger.

BTW I finaly got him to tell me how bad that 45/70 DD was on recoil after a year of trying. The 1st shot your hand and wrist goes numb. The second shot your arm goes numb up to the elbow.

We have a few fur barren critters that wouldn't appreciate such a thing. It may kill them eventually, but until then you may become food.

I had a guy working for me for 6 years that got buck shot from a 12 gauge in his arm and leg. Pissed him right off, and he walked to the car, and walked into the emergency room. One of his buddies thought he was a buck I guess.

I really think the shooter thought he was another guy that was hunting and wanted to off him. I think he shot the wrong guy. I know for a long time he was a little leery of getting back into hunting. I wonder why? I know another guy in town that got 12 gauge bird shot in the ass. The shooter thought his butt was a rabbit I guess. Anyone want to come to Maine for a hunt?

You know Mr RichieO I believe we had a discussion where you said that you had some folks up there that wanted gun bands. Wonder where they figiured that was a good idea.

We don't have very many of those "mistaken identity" shootings up here. We do have a lot of "missing persons" reports though.
