Before I got on here I had to help my buddy out. He had a 08 Megacab he sold to a kid near Ft Wayne Indiana, they were coming to get it today with a white quad cab 3rd gen with an 8 inch stack. This morning west of Buffalo there was a bang and the front driveshaft did something funky, it pushed the bearing out of the back of the transfer case, broke the case all to heck. They JB welded it and used a beer can and some of that great stuff spray foam on it and rolled in here about 6pm. I loaded the engine on the pallet on their truck and pushed the mega onto the car dolly. My buddy showed up and offered them oil, a funnel, and whatever else they needed. I came on home and 15 minutes later he called and asked if I had a spare belt, theirs came off when they got ready to leave. I donated my spare from the '97. I hope they make it back, when they were pumping the oil in, it was coming out just as fast. I thought only I had that kinda luck!

Don't know exactly, both guys were from large farms, 3k and 3500 acres. The white truck was the combination of 2 that were wrecked. He's using the Mega for the same thing, he has a white one that's been rolled.
They had several calls from home, and were convinced to spend the night. My buddy took them to a motel nearby. He said they got a belt, (mine didn't fit) and a tube of silicone. They were going to try to seal it up better, then head home this morning.

This "follered" me home last night, in the rain and thunderstorms.
It's a 1975 Power Wagon with an '89 Cummins auto. Parts rig!:

Ike,
The carhauler has that hood on it with the '92 grille.
It actually looks good with the grille.

The flatbed is decent, no major rust issues, but it's been hacked on a little in the back, easy enough to fix, though.

Too bad I had to drill holes in the bumper to bolt on a towbar. :(
I had to because the carhauler is non-running and the local rental place wouldn't rent a trailer to haul this, saying "it's too heavy", because I made the mistake of telling them what I was actually hauling.

Mark,

I haven't seen one on a newer truck, I thought about seeing what one would look like on a 1st gen, just for kicks and grins

I tried to get a Uhaul trailer once, I was gonna haul a two door Yukon, I told them I was gonna haul a ferd escort...they said ok to that, but then they ask me about my 92, they say it's not "heavy duty" enough  After a few minutes explaning my case to the service agent and then the arrogant manager, I told them to keep thier migdet of a trailer. I ended up borrowing a friends trailer, did some repairs to it and I was on my merry way. Besides the cost of some electrical parts, I got to use the trailer for $free.99!

It's nice having good, quality friends ;)

Below is a couple shots of the hauler with both the hood and the grille.
Note that I also used the earlier '80s style front bumper on it, as well.
In order to use the hood with the intercooled radiator and support, some structure mods HAD to be done to clear the radiator cap and the fan shroud mounting.
I also had to re-locate the striker that latches the hood down, though the safety catch was just fine.

BTW, the hood and wiper cowl are the "originals" from this truck, which was titled as a "Club Chassis Cab", which is/was a fairly rare truck to find.
Most "Chassis Cab" trucks are standard cabs.

I really should fix the nagging tranny and front spring problems, then put it back on the road.

Ike, that bird-bath hood looks great in person on the car-hauler. Mark came by to strip some parts off of an old truck I had and brought this old thing.
