You handled it better then I would have. I tend to speak what's on my mind and I can't stand a person complaining about medication and it's cost. You need it pay for and be glad there is something to help you. I would have been much meaner about it. I wouldn't take my advice though since I am a single guy with a great nack for p*ssing women off. To awnser your quetion though pigs would fly before I appologized.

Ellis, just see if the wife takes it personally, or lets it slide. If it gets personal, probably better apologize to the old bat.
HOW-EV-ER, if nothing happens, either count your blessings and take it as a lesson not to do it again, OR take it as carte-blanche to unload on her EVEN WORSE the next time!

Ya the wifes cool about it,she know how her mother is and how I am, will always be  I've always been kinda cool with my inlaws but that just curled my toes. Plus I'm trying to quit the snuff and THAT makes it worse. You'd think, least I do  ,that a person could control that but I surely could NOT.

You were fine if the wife mentioned to you that were a bit "rough".

When the wife was planning our (read: her) wedding, the inlaws told us we had $xx,xxx. Only a couple conditions. Then came the "you must invite this person, you must have hor d'vouers, you must, you must, you must..." when they did that, our guest list got to the point of having a bunch of old relatives, no friends. The "blood is thicker than water" was used once. My retort to my MIL was too thick of blood will kill you. The next tatic was my FIL saying he was paying for it thus we should do it his way. I told him fine, the marriage license is $35, the minister is $100, and I already paid for the honeymoon. Everything else is cancelled. I actually had the wife agreeing with me on this. The whole month of August was 1 fight after another. Thankfully they let up and our wedding is very well known among our friends as being one of the best.

I have had my fights with them. I pick and choose the ones I know I will win.

I don't see anything wrong with speaking your mind. I'd rather have someone call it the way it is even if I don't agree then lie to me. But then again I've been called a few names over the years for speaking my mind. Which is why I posted what I did in the member endeavors section. (surprised no one responded)

No coyotes yet. The guy I hunt with hit a deer so that is out there right now. Luckily I checked it today and they started in on it. So now I'm waiting for the trail cam to let me know what time they are coming to it. I never thought that I'd be hunting coyotes but after they ate the tail and wrecked a hind quarter of my buck this year they are going down. Shot my buck, in the three hours of tracking it in the rain (only went 150 yrds worst blood trail I've had to follow) they had already started in on it.

Then you and I would get along fine, cause I'll tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I find it better to tell people what I think rather than beat around the bush and swallow whatever trash I'm hearing. Everybody has a point where there's just too much and it all comes out, usually with a bitter outcome. Better to let it fly out there and see where it lands.

Man, I miss all the cool siht! :(
I think you did the right thing Ellis. Sometimes you have to listen to people complain, but the way that came across is wrong. You have to draw the line someplace.
