It's happened to us all. I put a 82 chevy dually threw the cabinets and back wall of our barn at my folks 2 years ago when I thought it was in neutral. It hadn't ran in years and I wasn't expecting it to actually even turn over and the first hit of the key after putting a little gas in the carb she roared to life. It blew right past my brother and into the cabinet.

No doubt, I figured it would have just kept going right through a trailer. Guess those things are tougher than I thought they were.

i've done something similar to that myself, course i never speed shifted to the next gear  .

we watched a ford 3000 ride around a field for a couple of hours with no driver cause no one had the guts to try to jump on it with the big set of disc hanging on the rear  . it finally hit a tree and chugged to a stop.

I didn't see a neutral safety switch in that pile of stuff, I think that should be a priority!

Years ago was visiting in-laws in Mn. Gramps had just picked up an old Case Doser which was sitting in the front yard. He had left it in gear with the blade just touching the ground. My son, 8 yrs at the time, was playing around on the thing, as boys will do, when he hit the majic combo and the old Case started and took off aimed for the middle of the house. Never saw an old man move so fast!! Gramps got it stopped less than 1 ft from the front porch. He never again parked anything in gear or aimed at the house again.

I always throw the s10 into reverse when i park, whether i know itll roll or not. With me knowing this and the help of a neutral saftey switch i have to have the clutch in. Therefore when i fire it the clutch is in and i wiggle the shifter to make sure and let it out with no problem. Only time i had an issue is when i just got out and got back into the truck and went to take off quick, i started it and dumped the clutch and pluh!! she just died. Luckily enought i didnt slam into the other dodge and mess up my donor truck, pulltilbroke, sthi happens man and like everyone else said atleast noone was hurt

So I dug into it a little later than expected but today I got all the old bent sheetmetal off and started goin back together with it. The PO really like to cobble stuff. There were a bunch of bolts missing and a bunch of other stuff wrong with it. I got halted by a door hinge that didn't want to cooperate. I tried putting the drivers fender on but it was touching the door and the fender couldn't move forward anymore, so I tried adjusting the hinge but it was so wore out that I still couldn't get it to work, So I went and picked up another bottom hinge from a buddy and got a couple of pin and bushing kits so I can adjust the door up good, The PO had em all out of whack.

YES!!!, My belly would feel much better and Grilles wouldn't get the D-G crack. I spose it would make things easier to get to also.

Believe me, I've rolled it around in my head a lot and the biggest problem would be re-locating the battery.
I figure you could drop it (or even a pair) through the floor in the front of the bed.
OR do a driver's side bed pocket.

My old F-800 gave me some good ideas and I think I figured out how to do the front clip, yet still keep the inner fenders there to do their job.
